I am back from my vacation and it was just blissful. I have to say that vacations in foreign locals are not the best for the whole “training for a marathon thing” due to the fact that outside of the United States I never really see people running outside.
Dubrovnik, Croatia is an annual trip I took with my mom and as my back was having problems she suggested that I do some long swims to really help make my back a bit stronger.
I became swimming obsessed and every every morning started my day with a big breakfast and usually at least an hour of swimming. I also did stairs and when everything was said and done lost 6 pounds in Croatia. I have yet to see how all of this is going to help my runs but I feel physically great.
The trip itself was a nice break, I stayed away from seriously partying so I could focus on getting myself both relaxed and strong. It was exactly what I needed. London I hit with a bang and decided that my 3rd marathon will hopefully be London after talking with a sweet girl who was an avid marathon runner.
So I did have a bit of a lapse in my training BUT will be heading out for 5 miles later this afternoon 🙂 My puppy dog is feeling well, I’m tan and I’m happy and focused. In the end I think the next couple weeks of training are going to be amazing and i’m looking forward to it!
