Breaking in the Shoes

How long does it take to break in a pair of running shoes?

Today, after lifting with Mr. Trainer Man and feeling pretty solid which was odd because I had a couple beers last night and ended up not being able to sleep due to my noctural tap-dancing upstairs neightbors, I decided to run on the treadmill.

I hate the treadmill, I don’t run as fast and I get so profoundly bored. I am running a 5K Saturday and I had a full day of work ahead of me so I thought might as well. I’ll just pump out 3 miles.

I have a blister on the arch of my foot I believe that is from my new shoes. I really hope this is me breaking my shoes in and not a fatal flaw in my purchase. That would SUCK. After 1.56 miles I gave up because I was in serious pain. I think tonight I’ll try again as well as tomorrow because I don’t want to wear these new shoes to run a race in if they are hurting my feet.

Seriously. If I can go through 2 weeks without a foot problem I will thank my lucky stars!!!!

On a side note…it is gorgeous today…Spring running is almost here. I don’t even know what that means since I started running in November but it sounds awesome.
