Reasons Why My Mother is Amazing

When I decided to run the Chicago Marathon I told everyone via Facebook partially because I wanted the “omg that is awesome” “you go girl” comments that usually occur when you post anything exciting via that irritating yet deadly addictive site.

My mother when hearing about this new adventure I was taking on got very excited… like VERY VERY excited. I was recently speaking to her and she informed me that she not only has her flight already booked (I haven’t even thought of that yet…) as well as her hotel. I was informed that this hotel has a big tub which I will be soaking in for sure after 26.2 miles. She also has virtually run the race which you can do on the website.

It means so much to me that she would be this excited to see me run! Then of course I get a lovely card from her today with this quote,

May your life be like a wild flower, growing freely in the beauty and joy of each day

Then inside the card something a bit more along the lines of her humor.

Whatever your dream in life, whatever is your goal. Keep your eye on the donut, not upon the hole.

So with my eye being on the donut…figuratively…today I am doing my laundry, cleaning my apartment, doing lots and lots of random little errands and GOING FOR A LONG RUN!
